Everywhere I go, I learn something new. Yesterday, I went to see my Allergist to test the pain killer she had the compounding pharmacist put together for me. We talked about my allergies & I told her that I know just about what I kind of nuts that I'm allergic to that I ingested from the locations of the hives that I get from it. I thought she'd laugh, but she got very serious & said that we are a patchwork of genes. We are not a homogenized mix of genes. We have spots that are inherited from one parent or the other. Women are more strange then men because we have 2 X chromosomes.
I was enthralled. I went on to tell her about my periodontal spot on my gums that seems to be most affected when I get exposed to foods that I'm allergic to. She said that she has other patients who have the same type to response when they ingest something they are allergic to. Whoopee. Guess I'm not as loony as I thought.
Bottom Line: We are a patchwork quilt of our parents genes. At the moment there is no way to tell where the genes will expose themselves. & throw in genes that may have mutated just because...
